Sharing the peaceful practice of brush lettering live on Instagram.

She’ll be handlettering names in real time, inviting followers to slow down and experience the calming rhythm of ink and movement.

Followers are encouraged to drop their names in the comments and watch as each one is brought to life, stroke by stroke.

Session:  Finding Peace with a Ballpoint Pen

Would you like an easy way to retreat from the world’s chaos and noise and confusion?

Calligraphy students mention over and over again, especially in the last few years, how much they appreciate the way that their calligraphy studies give them a welcome break from a world which seems determined to drive them crazy.

Here’s your chance to tap into that oasis of peace for yourself.


The word “calligraphy” comes from the Greek word “kalligraphia,” which means “beautiful writing.”

This session is an opportunity to learn to create some beautiful letters in a relaxed, contemplative way, with no experience, no special tools, and no headaches!


We’ll be studying a casual contemporary lettering style that you can use for envelopes, cards, or anything else that you would like to make fancier without a lot of fuss.

This is a form of calligraphy made easy!

Cheryl Tefft runs Calligraphics, a top calligraphy school in the US for adults, providing custom design experiences for special occasions and launching calligraphers into their own businesses. She specializes in calligraphy for weddings and highly decorated one-of-a-kind documents.

Her calligraphic artwork has been featured in events all over the world and in numerous publications, including Brides, The Knot, and Martha Stewart Weddings magazine.

Completely beginner-friendly! Even for seasoned calligraphers, watercolor and a paintbrush may be a medium you haven't practiced with before! Our theme is Growth Mindset. We'll begin with the basic strokes, work our way up to letters, then try short words and phrases. Session: Let Grief Speak: A Lettering Ritual for Loss and Love

In this heartfelt class, we’ll turn grief into a quiet ritual—through words, lettering, and intention. You’ll begin with a simple writing prompt to let your loss speak in its own raw, beautiful language.

Together, we’ll discover the essence of what wants to be said—and then we’ll letter that phrase by hand. A brush lettering technique will be offered. You may create letters with your favorite tool and script.

Heather Leavitt Martinez (she/they) is an artist, facilitator, and author based in Durango, Colorado. Widowed in midlife, her creative work now draws from lived experience and explores how grief, love, and lettering can coexist.

Session: Ying and Yang of Calligraphy - Self-Integration through Calligraphy Style. Guiding students through some simple styling fundamentals so they can write two opposite sides of their personalities in styles that match.

The final project would be to create a small art piece where both personality aspects are written together.

Shinah - is a whiskey-loving, curse-word slinging, Harvard-trained former corporate attorney who left everything behind to pursue her true passion: modern calligraphy. And she's pretty damn good at it.
